You’ve probably heard the phrase “just add water”.
But the water that you add can have an impact on the food you cook.
And while water doesn’t seem to affect the final product, there’s a growing body of research showing that adding it to foods can impact the taste.
Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania, for example, found that adding too much water to an apple cider vinegar salad boosted the salt content, and that adding water to canned tomatoes reduced the saltiness.
